
Alyssa Bai · Filmmaker & Editor, Assistant Editor
is a graduate of DePaul University's School of Cinematic Arts, where she received her B.F.A. in Film and Television, with a Documentary Concentration. Her curiosity for the digital medium began at an early age and eventually grew into an admiration for the craft of filmmaking upon completing her first short film "The Bucket List" at the New York Film Academy's Digital Filmmaking Program in 2015. The following year, she went on to attend the School of Visual of Arts' Pre-College Program, where she further honed her filmmaking skills. Over the past decade, she’s worked on numerous projects in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago that encompass feature films, short films, promotional videos, and trailers/television spots for documentary and narrative projects.

Alyssa is currently an LA-based assistant editor at Deutsch/Steelhead.TV (ADWEEK's 2024 U.S. Agency of the Year, one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024) and previously got her start at Revolve Agency, where she assisted in crafting a diverse slate of trailers and campaigns for film and television.
As a traveler of 16 countries and 29 U.S. states, Alyssa realizes the importance of and is committed to creating and sharing diverse and nuanced stories. She’s especially passionate about increasing the visibility of underrepresented communities and her career goal is to connect as many people of different cultures and backgrounds as possible through film, television, and media, and show that there are truly, far more things we have in common than those that divide us.
She is an active member of the International Documentary Association, Asian American Documentary Network, Alliance of Documentary Editors, The Video Consortium, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, and Blue Collar Post Collective.
Additionally, Alyssa is a graduate of The Handy Foundation Assistant Editor Training Program (Winter 2024) and is on the IATSE Local 700 Industry Experience Roster (MPEG).
